This weekend my dear friend Judi took me to French General as an early bday present ~ to take this wonderful class taught by ever so sweet Charlotte Lyons and the joyful Pam Garrison.

We made Sailor Hearts where we stiched, embellished and stuffed.

Here are the two that I made and can I say I am in love - they are so much fun to make!

I definitly see more coming this way soon!

The Owl who became a Rooster

As I have said I am taking two online workshops right now - Misty's OPen Studio and Pixie's SOul Lodge.  The two go hand in hand in helping me get rid of the winter blues and motivate me in this new year. 

This little guy above started out as an OWL~

However~

In the process of painting him he turned into a ROOSTER!

Soul Lodge has been calling me to find humor this week and to listen to who is calling me -

LOve this little day planner with art work from Geninne - love her artwork and love her blog!  So I was delighted when I found this little day planner on the shelf at Barnes and Noble and later found a whole stack at Anthropologie ;) 

 

It has a great layout of months and weeks

and tons of her fabulous illustrations

I am going to use it as my day planner and my creative on the go nest - more on that to come ;)

Playing with Portraits

 

I normally don't paint people.  But the way to grow - to get yourself moving is to stretch and do something new.  I teach many online classes, but I take them as well.  I believe we can never stop learning - there is always room for more.  So I have started two new classes this week - Misty Mawn's Open Studio Workshop and Pixie Campbell's Soul Lodge.

 

New Explorations

 

I have been fooling around with the idea of watercolors and using patterns in my work and honestly "I think I like it"  Defintely something worth exploring .

I did these two last night in the car while my son had basketball practice.  Let's just say that the weeks ahead are going to include me in the car waiting a lot ;)  Lacrosse starts next week as well.  So I am hoping to get some work done in the process.
