I had a wonderful day on friday. One of the questions that I was asked in My Soul Restoration eclass was about what would be my perfect day, who makes me feel good and where I like to be. So this was a day for "me" not Mom, Wife, Sister, Daughter, Teacher but it was for Friend.
It started with this:
Midi ~ my sweet petunia
I started the day taking a great lesson with my trainer Julie riding the sweet one above. The place or time that I am most at peace in my day is when I ride. I can only focus on the horse and myself and all other thoughts recede from my mind. Afterwards I feel a sense of peace - my mind wiped clean.
Next:
I went here:

to visit my soul sister Judi

We spent the day making Journals!!! Judi is a master bookbinder and she taught me how to make an artjournal from the beginning using a long stitch. She is a fabulous teacher. Just one of the many many perks of being her best friend ;)
I made these - and yes I am an over achiever, and yes I knew this was a rare event that I would have this much concentrated time to myself so I took advantage of the situation ;)

Yes, I made 5 - insert sheepish grin here ;*
this one is around 9x13 and is filled with smooth Canson watercolor paper.

and this one which is 8x11 and filled with a variety of watercolor papers smooth and rough as well as some tinted pastel papers.

Here are the twins - 9x13 and filled with a paper variety as above

and here is the baby

I was soooo thrilled with my brood!
then ...
We decided to go to my favorite Chinese Restaurant ever!

Yang Chow in Chinatown ~ Can you say Yummo!
then home to Judi's where we sat around and chatted and drank some bubbly - Veuve Cliquo - another fav
and I had a sleepover! That's right folks - no kids, no husband, no animals - I slept like a ROCK ;)
and if it couldn't get any better I awoke to the smell of bacon because of this guy

Judi's husband Steve (btw one of my most favorite men in the world next to my husband) was making me breakfast. Yes, he is an amazing cook, cute, smart, and is the lead singer and drummer of the fabulous Latin Blues Band ~ The Delgado Brothers - (Steve are you blushing right now?) and on top of that I am lucky to call him a true friend.
I am truly blessed to have these people in my life who make me feel safe and welcome and loved.
