Los Arboles will be starting on November 15th!

Here are some details about the class ~

We will be using the Tree and all that it encompasses as our focus in this class - Our Muse

The class will be set up to focus on different techniques and mediums including - watercolor, acrylic paint, pastel, color pencil, marker and pen and ink. 

You can explore all the mediums or just the one's that you like.  It is a good way to find out what medium really suits you or to expose yourself to something new.

In acquiring materials for this class please choose the medium/mediums that you would like to work in.  Supplies can be costly so use what you already have at home!  The following list is just a suggestion.

A little inspiration ...

Suggestion has it that copying the art of  those who do it well improves your skills - This is advise I have always tried to follow.  That being said one of my favorite artist's is Susan Branch.  I have all of her books and I think I love her because her work is so different from my own - its whimisical and pretty and filled with light.  So today I did some sketches inspired by her work.

A Day in Portland with my best Pal

My dear friend Ginny and I got to spend the whole day together - foot loose and fancy free!

We had the best lunch at Mother's Bistro

and I even bought the cookbook due to the "most delicious Mac and Cheese"

  We also braved the rain and toured the Sat. Market and found several goodies -  My favorite being this ADORABLE wrap skirts that are upcycled in the cutest way not to mention that their creator was adorable and sweet herself.

Portland Purchase

I bought these little lovelies from Sue Hadden - a fabulous artist and sculpture at vendor night in Portland at Art and Soul. They make me smile - bring me joy.

I have been at Art and Soul in Portland for the past week or so and have been so busy!  But I have so much to show and tell ...

It will come in snippets as I have time as I am off again in two weeks to teach at Journalfest in Port Townsend.

I have been enchanted by the beauty and allure of watercolors.  There will be much more to come in this department ;)

If you are anything like me you often forget what paint colors you own - go out to the store buy them and then realize you already have the same color at home ;)

 

So I made this little chart and am sending this to my iphone so that I have the photo as a reference when I undoubtedly go to purchase more.

Now, if I can only remember to look at it ;)
