" ... without a horse in my keeping I would feel as if I had lost touch with the earth " - Beryl Markham
In May of 2008 I felt like I had lost touch with the earth ...
My beloved soulmate Ebony passed.
I never thought I would get over my grief. It was through my art that I did. I still miss her each and every day but now it is more sweet than bitter. A friend told me while I was grieving that one day Ebony's spirit would come to rest inside of me. That one day I will feel her strength and love in every breath. Now indeed I do.
Recently, Morgan, lost her long time four legged soulmate and is feeling like she has lost touch with the earth. So Morgan this is for you - an understanding, a comfort in knowing that one day your sweet one will come to rest within you ...
Beautiful!!! Its never easy to lose a friend, however i like the thought that there spirit rests inside of us. That brings much comfort. Thanks Gina!!

Gina, Thank you so much for that post. My arabian gelding Sarajevo was a sweet, and willing companion. He was 26 and totally sound and spunky. We were riding half passes bareback just a few weeks ago! I will never forget him.

...that was profoundly moving. The journal you have created is so rich with love and grief and memory. Your paintings are superb. You are very special Gina, I am so glad I got to meet you. I love the way you found to bring your experiences to life by making these beautiful videos and adding your voice to it. Thanks for presenting to us your vulnerability and strength.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful book of remembrance with us. Your images and verbal account of your relationship with Ebony was very moving. Now she is a part of us, also.
