Painter"s Progress ~ the Saint's go Marching

I have been working on a series of paintings of late to bring to Artfest with me for vendor night based on the Saints - something that is rather meaningful to me growing up Catholic - I am no longer a practicing one but something about the mysticism of them captures me and remains very meaningful - so here is a peek

Last friday my dear Judi took me for tea to celebrate my birthday here

A little Haiku

One of my favorite birthday presents was this new bag from my mom.  I love it!! It has all these great pockets and it hangs on my shoulder great and it rocks!  I first saw this bad boy on the shoulder of an art  friend Keli Hansen and lusted after it.  It is called a To Go Haiku bag.

My husband brought home these cool and oh so comfy shoes for my Valentine's present.  I feel loved mostly because he really gets me - knows that I would adore these funky, colorful, and comfy shoes.  Gotta love this man!

Honesty at 42

I always get rather contemplative before my birthday ~ Tues 2/16.  And this year proves no different.  This year for me is about being HONEST - with myself that is.  I read a blog the other day about what the author liked and was.  Being inspired to do the same ....

I am will be 42.

I am the daughter of an italian father and a polish mother - I am exactly 50/50

I am an artist

I am a mother

I am a wife of nearly 20 yrs

I started oil painting when I was 6

I won my high school art award for photography

I have gone to 4 different colleges

It took me close to 10 yrs to graduate

I am a credentialed teacher

I taught elem. school for 8 yrs

I was a hat designer

I was a business owner

It took me 7 yrs of infertility to have my first son ~ my second son was a surprise 3yrs later

I was engaged to my husband after a month and a half.

I was married 6 months to almost the day after our first meeting.

In September we will be married for 20 yrs.

I was born in Maryland and lived there until I was 18.

I have lived in California since then.

I will be teaching at Artfest and Journalfest and Art and Soul for my first time this year.

I have published 3 articles for Somerset Magazine.

It is hard to write down my accomplishments.

I have many true friends - you know who you are.

I treasure them deeply.

I am a photographer.

I am a painter.

I am a reader.

I don't like to write.

I like dark chocolate only.

I love sushi, chinese food, italian and polish food.

I love food.

I can remember every meal I have ever eaten years later.

I like to cook.

I am good at it.

I bake to settle my nerves.

I love black tea with honey and milk.

I like coke but not pepsi.

My father is a musician.

I get my creativity from my mother - she can teach herself anything.

I have owned, shown and ridden horses since I was 7.

I have ridden dressage for the past 15 years.

I like animals more than people.

I am not trusting.

I am very loyal to my friends.

I am generous.
