My mom wanted a painting based on this sculpture she got in Mexico of Saint Francis of Assisi.
Here is the progression
sketch and lay down color blocks
start adding details and write St. Francis prayer on background.
St. Francis 24x36
add finish details and pan pastel to background
I hope she likes it
Prayer
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
I LOVE it!

Gina,
I love to see the creative process at work and how each iteration brings you closer to a finished project. Your mom will be thrilled. One day I hope to own the Owl picture to give to my mom. Glad you are teaching so much. Love and Light Lola
