I have decided to create a class that would be the one I would love to take.  A class that combines the focus of a theme, time to really sit down and get into my work, time to delve into a subject while learning a variety of new techniques, someone to push me to explore and unravel the deepest parts of myself in a inspiring atmosphere.

La Mare will be our muse in creating a unique book filled with poetry, photographs, drawings, paintings, and more.  We will walk the shores for inspiration and to capture images of deep beauty. This class will focus on the Sea and all the wisdom she has to offer. 

You will have the freedom to work at will with ample space.  Technique demos will be taught throughout the day.

These will include such topics as~

Digital Photography - layout, settings, and design
Post Production editing - photoshop, iphoto
Sketching from photographs and objects
acrylic painting
water color and pen sketches
preparing background papers
coptic journal construction


Class will be at my home in Malibu.
2 day workshop fee ~ 150.00

Once was new is old again

These are some photos I took on a recent trip.  I love to bring them home and alter them so they look old.  Can't wait to use them in a future painting.

Many Native people believe that animals present themselves to us in the form of guides and teachers. In this class we will journal about why certain animals are prominent in our lives, what we can learn from them and how we can express ourselves through our art using them as guides.  The techniques we will explore will include using b/w photographic images along with paint, pen, pencil, color and poetry.

reinvention

I think I am going through my reinvention phase or rather my quest to expose the real me~ not the one I think I should be or the one I think others want but the one that I like.  I suppose with age comes wisdom and a comfort in accepting who you are and embracing that.  I am in Spokane for a few days with just my husband - no kids and time to myself.  How often does that happen?  So it gives me time to pause ... time to settle ... time to take a good look and decide if I like what I see ...

Rose Bowl Score!

Judi and I got up with the sun and headed to the Rose Bowl flea market this morning ~  and yes we were up to no good, and yes we did  .... SCORE!

Here's my loot ~ picnic basket, wooden boxes, a wooden sewing caddy, rosary, vintage tea towels and pot holders, an apron, honey pitcher, celluloid box, butter knives and awl, damask napkins, and the big one, a wooden flat file box :)

and yes, I am quite pleased with myself ...

The New Zinnia!

On Friday Judi and I went to the grand re - opening of the "new" Zinnia.  The space is lovely with lots of light and great energy.
