This is the next winterbella project - part one - make some tags to have throughout the year for gifts - so I made a few
Then a little inspiration hit and I made these little wall hangings from some very large tags - funny how once you get going and think you have nothing in your head - something pops out.
Here is my second attempt at the apothecary jar assemblage. I must say these are really fun and the great part is that they can be changed when the mood or season hits. I filled the jar with glass stones, a small nest, silk magnolia blossom, a glass embellishment that I had made, a silver frame, an abalone shell, a star card (whew that's a lot of stuff) - then I put on the rub on of Paris on the glass (if you want to take it off in the future just stick on scotch tape and it will pull off), tied silk ribbons to the top and baker's string and hung a tag, buttons and charms from them - Voila!

The project was to create a vignette in an apothecary jar. It was really fun to just fool around with it and I quite like the results - working on one more in progress.
This was on the last day of 2007 - It was great as we got ski all together. I am hoping by next year maybe to do the same. Went to the ortho dr. yesterday and got my prognosis - seems I tore my MCL and my ACL and probably some damage to my miniscus as well. Good news is he can repair it so that I will have full use. I am in a brace for the next 3 weeks and then an mri physical therapy for 1 to 2 weeks and then surgery. The biggest bummer is I can't drive - reaally a pain in the butt when you have to depend on others - ughh - oh well, determined to keep my spirits up with some art. I am a little tired today but my friend Judi is coming tomorrow to help me with a game plan! Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers - they mean so much to me! Please keep them coming - I think I am going to need it :)
Well, the first day of the new year was not as I planned. I was skiing with my six year old between my legs when he did the splits and therefore so did I when I heard a pop and extreme pain in my right knee. Then came ski patrol ride down the hill, ride in an ambulance, and 7 hrs in the er. I am in a brace and on my way home to see an ortho doc. The er doc said he was pretty sure it is a torn ACL. Which probably means surgery. I must be honest here so I don't hold it all in ... I am scared. I hate being immobile, hate surgery, being in the hospital and being foremost out of control. I feel depressed laying here - hate it. Ok done feeling sorry for myself - truth is it could have been much worse - no. 1 my son is ok! No. 2 it is just my knee - I will walk and do everything again with it I am sure. It is just going to be a huge pain in the a&*(. I will hae to rely on others and slow down - I know things happen for a reason so obviously this is a big lesson for me. Bare with me as I spill this all out (so I don't keep it in). Thanks.
