My friend Carol Parks along with the wonderful Lynne Perella put together a parasol swap. I was lucky enough to be a part of it. So here is my finished creation - I think it turned out rather nicely. Hope they all like it.

A Day Book
I found this really great desk calendar organizer - The Family Organizer I really like the interior layout - but the outside was AWEFUL! So what is a girl to do .... change it! Here are the results. - Not sure how it will hold up but at least it looks good. I even added little handles so I could grab it easily. Sometimes functionality and looks are not packaged together soooo .... a little alterization (is that a word?) is needed.

Do You Dare to Be Creative?
I got these two great books in the mail the other day from Amazon - saw them on someone's blog -sorry but I can't remember who - whoever you are thank you!!. They are The Creative License and Everyday Matters by Danny Gregory.
His drawings and journals are amazing - I love his line work - it is so organic and feeling. I also like his outlook on life.
He asks pointed questions like ... "Do you dare to be creative?"
and he gives you many opportunities to draw ;)
So I grabbed one of my MANY started but not filled Moleskines and started - he talks a lot about your right and left brain and how if you can shut that left brain up that your drawing can be very soothing and meditative - I am all for shutting up that critical voice and getting some quiet. So grab your pen and paper and stick them in your car or bag or purse and join me won't you ... go ahead Dare to be Creative.

wine country
My dad was out from back east for a few days. so we all went up to Los Olivos (my favorite spot) and went wine tasting for the day at 3 of my favorite wineries. Zaca Mesa ....
This is me and my brother Dino and Sunstone vineyards.
Dad and I on the deck at Rusack - would you look at that view. We went to the local Rancho Market - which I adore and bought goodies like cheeses, proscuitto, bread, fruit etc to take along as a picnic - we sat and stared out at this lovely view while eating and sipping wine - doesn't get any better than this I tell ya.
