ART EXPLOSION (Free Arts 30 Year Anniversary Celebration) was a Huge success - over 375 people attended the evening reception. This is a painting I did for the event. Prompted by the sweetest women in the world Tracy Park - owner of the gallery I decided to sell my piece and have the proceeds go to Free Arts - I am thrilled to report that the program will be receiving $3000.00 for it - whooo hooo! The following is a virtual exhibit of the Maryvale girl's exhibition. I cannot begin to express how proud I am of them - their efforts, their courage and their talent - their fingerprints are forever embedded on my heart and soul.

gina - i'm absolutely blown away by the work that the girls created under your guidance. and, by your incredible piece of work. their words - "i am a true artist" - speak volumes for what you have accomplished with them this summer. the word heroine comes to mind here. oh, how i wish i could have been there to give each and every one of you a huge loving hug.....xoxoxoxoxo

Gina, I have been proud of you in your accomplishments your whole life, but last night, I was just blown away. Your art, your dedication, and the outcome of those young girls was beyond any words I can say. You are a shining star! You glowed last night and you deserved all the praise given to you. This is your passion, to put your art into helping others. You are a wonderful role model for these girls and I am so thankful you are my daughter. Your painting was so beautiful. It screamed with the emotion of a new burst of life. You gave each girl the opportunity to put their mark on the world and touch other people with their healing art. I think you have picked up a torch that you will carry for a long time.
I love you,
your biggest fan

I wish everyone could have been there in person. The artwork is phenomenol and I am so impressed by the courage of these young women. By the way, folks - the artwork of these ladies was the centerpiece of the event and brought tears to many eyes. The canvases are pretty large - daunting for anyone!
So proud for you, Gina! You have truly found your "Artful Purpose". Bravo!!!
Hugs,
Judi

Wow! Gina, this is amazing... so beautiful. So meaningful. So life altering. I would love to hear more about how this came to be.
I am an elementary teacher... I work with 9 and 10 year olds... a pretty typical school.... but it is so necessary for them to learn there are ways to share their voices.... ways like what you have done. A completely different group of students.... but still... the arts NEED to be a part of everyone's life.
Thank you for helping those beautiful young people share their voices. Simply amazing and inspiring!

Oh, Gina...you are a treasure. The world is lucky to have you! You brought out amazing things with the Mary Vale girls. I hope for the other young women out there, that you do this again and again. Just excellent.
