My birdy swap partner was Cindy Albright of Faerie Luna - lucky me - I got this great basket filled with handmade tags, treats, candles, a bowl and this magnificent black birdy - love!

I sent out my first batch of zines yesterday! The plan is to get them all out by next week - cross my fingers! PLEASE let me know what you think when you get them. I hope you enjoy them.
Here are our hands - the girls (as I call them) and my own. Yesterday couldn't have gone better. First all of the girls are wonderful and have such amazing spirits - I truly believed I was going to find a lot of resistance but they all save for a few really embraced and through themselves into the work. I have such a full spirit after yesterday and am very excited about our journey together.
We started by covering large sheets of Wassau paper with acrylic paints using a credit card and worked very quickly covering both sides of the paper.
Here are the results of our paper painting which will become the starting pages of our large journals.
Then we used even larger sheets of Wassau paper and experimented with a variety of techniques and media. I photographed the whole pieces (which you can see below and in my humble opinion could hang on any wall. The girls were so sweet and gracious and just a joy to be around. My next day with them will be on June 20 as they have end of the year school activities next week.
Well, this weekend was a packed one in more ways than one - baseball games, piano recitals, cute boys in suits, a wedding! A new little filly was born at our barn "Lamarique" she is the sweetest thing - I am in love! She is about 2 weeks here and she loves Grayson - soo sweeeet! 
I am getting ready for my first session with The Maryvale Girls as I call them - it is a kickoff with dinner and I made sweet and cure cuppity cakes for them. I am packed up and ready (god I hope so ) to go! 
I wanted each girl to have her own special stuff - not cheap crafty supplies but the real thing - to let them know that they are valued - so I put this kit together with Free Arts for them - each girl will get a case that includes a set of 10 caran d'ache neo color II's, a set of Pitt artist pens, letter stencil set, circle stencil set, an apron gratis of my friend Carol Parks, a set of watercolor brushes, a composition book, and a zippered binder. I am going in tomorrow with an open heart and mind and am going to go with what presents itself - wish me luck!
This is just some of the stuff I will be bringing thanks to all of you. A special thank you to my friend Ginny Smallenburg who donated a ton - really - of new supplies for the girls - thank you so much you big hearted soul! 
All I can say is the mailman knows me VERY well! I come home everyday to a pile of boxes on my doorstep and then the UPS man rings my bell with more boxes! Thank you everyone so much for your gracious hearts - all of the supplies for the Maryvale girls are so appreciated and I am so overwhelmed by such kindness. Just look at my uh ... dining room ...
that being said ... The zine issues are going to ship out a wee bit later - I am hoping to get the first batch out this week and the rest to follow. Thanks for understanding and I hope it will be worth the wait.
