October means some color for me at least. So I took out the decorations and created little colletions around the house. This is the garden window above the sink in the kitchen.
This is the entry table when you come in the front door.
Ifelt compelled by all these fall colors to work in my art journal. Very quickly and without thinking I just started laying things down, putting down colors and writing. Sometimes this is the best way for me to work - without thinking! My head gets me stuck everytime. It is very freeing and also liberating to work this way. Humbling as well - not focusing on it looking pretty or perfect - good lesson for me - that's for sure.
Here is my dining table and you can see the dark crimson color on the wall
which we just had painted. The whole dining room is this lovely color and this weekend I found this great handpainted switch plate which I thought would be perfect for the the new walls!
After four years of white walls I now have crimson and "Ale" it looks a bit yellow in the pics but it really is a honey wheat color. Color makes such a difference. The rooms feel so much warmer and richer. I guess it is no wonder fall is my favorite season - I surround myself with its colors of comfort as well.
