Autumn Flavors and Treats

You gotta love the Japanese Dollar store!  It rocks!  My mom took me to one called Muraki by her house and I went wild!  I was in there for hours and still could have found more stuff.  Here is some of my treasures = floral printed sacks, oragami papers, awesome stationary sets, a cute pad, mini colorful clothspins and fun little containers and it was all made so much sweeter in that every item was a 1.50!  Love it!

I fell in love with these fall colors of yarn and was finally compelled to make something.  Autumn always makes me want to take out my yarns and knit or crochet.  I made this wrap this week (basically just double crochet with a large hook) and I must say I do love it - it is warm and cozy and makes me feel comforted when I wrap myself in it. I sit and watch some tv or a movie and do my stuff.  I have to do something while I am watching!  I am not a big tv person and the shows I do like come on late so I have lowered myself to the tv gods and order tivo - it comes on Tuesday.  I am also on the hunt tomorrow for the season 1 collection of Boston Legal - I hear it is just the right kind of stuff for a bit of cheer.

So now I am on to a new project with these colors of the sea and moss in mind - another wrap for someone - not sure who yet!  I start around this time of year making Christmas gifts - I just pick a project and make them at night - line them up on my dining room table and then match them to the person for their gift.  2 Years ago I knitted 30 scarves, last year it was around 30 necklaces, and glass slide ornaments - I have a feeling this year there are going to be a lot of wraps!

Gina, the site is looking great. Love the house pics - I am such a house person! I, too, have come to love fall, the colors, the air, the crispness - it's all wonderful and bittersweet as we know what comes next - and here in N.E. that can be a challenge. Glad to see you are enjoying the season. I am out straight but doing some fun stuff which I will soon post on my blog. Keep in touch. I am really sad I'm not going to Artfest!
