Every year I make something to give away for Christmas. This year I am making hand crocheted cotton dish clothes. I started about a month ago and have made about a dozen so far. I am going to wrap them with my cookie baskets and give them away as gifts.
I am heading back east this week for my father's SURPRISE 70th birthday ( he does not know I am coming ;) so there will be two surprises. I made this piece using his baby picture to be blown up poster size for his party - cuteness of it ;)
I worked on a new journal today - pre thanksgiving movie (a family tradition) we saw "THE BLIND SIDE" so good and so moving and then dinner out at Duke's restaurant.
Anyway I digress ...
I started by making laser copies of my artwork which I then cut up for borders.
I made the journal using wassau paper that I painted with black gesso. The inside pages are a combination of acrylic and fabric dye on water color paper.
Happy Thanksgiving - Hope yours is filled with COLOR!

Here are some of my favorite .... I am very picky about the way they feel in my hand and how hot they keep the coffee and tea. These are all original ceramic artist pieces - no doubt - always on the lookout for new and interesting ones.
I got a bee in my bonnet this evening and decided to spruce up the studio. Maybe it was because I spent the day with Judi yesterday who is the queen of organizing and beautifying her studio or maybe because I am joining her bright and early tomorrow morning to go on the Arroyo Arts Collective Studio tour. Whatever the reason it feels good that it happened ;)
